SEB hires new head of sustainability

Earlier this month, SEB announced the appointment of Marie Baumgarts as new Head of Sustainability, thereby strengthening its committment to sustainability. She will be starting in February.

Most recently, Marie was Director Corporate Responsibility at Tele2. Previously, she worked with consulting on sustainability and climate issues for EY. She has also worked on major infrastructure projects in Sweden as project manager.

Marie says to Aktuell Hållbarhet that SEB is a fantastic platform to work for within sustainability. She explains that she has very high ambitions and that now it is all about continuing to lead and taking the next step. She talks about her plans to set up a strategic dialogue with stakeholders. She wants relevant key people to get together to create long-term plan with different activities.

Marie will be replacing Cecilia Widebäck West, the previous Head of Sustainability. According to SEB, during Cecilia’s seven years, SEB has made great strides in the area. SEB is the only Nordic bank included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, the most recognised global sustainability rankings for investors.
