Stockholm (NordSIP) – Infranode, the Sweden-based investment platform with a focus on long-term investments in infrastructure in the Nordics, has announced it has invested SEK 100 million in Swedish renewable energy company Eneo Solutions AB. It is Infranode’s second investment in Eneo, which will be used for Eneo’s solar and geothermal heat pump energy generation project pipeline in Sweden.
“We are very pleased with out investment in a portfolio of renewable energy assets with a high sustainability factor and stable cash yield returns, and look forward to investing an additional SEK 500 million as the Eneo team develops new assets for is clients,” said Philip Ajina, a founding partner at Infranode.
Infranode’s SEK 3.55 billion capital base is comprised of investors including Folksam, the Swedish insurance company and pension investment manager, KPA Pension, the Swedish municipal sector insurance and pension company, the European Investment Bank (EIB), the IMAS foundation and LocalTapolia, a Finnish non-life, life and pension insurance company. Infranode was founded in partnership with Areim, an established Sweden-based real estate investment manager and investment advisor.
Founded in 2013, Eneo Solutions AB’s previous investors included RAM Rational Asset Management, a hedge fund management company, Gullspang Invest, a Swedish family-office venture capitalist investing in early-stage cleantech and technology companies, and Rikard Lindstrom, a local entrepreneur. The company enables real estate owners to take part in the on-going revolution within distributed energy, helping its clients from the development of strategy to easily subscribing to solar and geothermal heat pump energy.

“Both solar and geothermal heat pump energy generation are by now proven technologies. The investment is complementary to our existing and coming investments in district heating,” added Christian Doglia, another founding partner at Infranode.
