Stockholm (NordSIP) – SPP Fastigheter AB (SPP Real Estate) and its management company Storebrand Fastigheter (Storebrand Real Estate) have been crowned European Best in Sustainability in the “Diversified” category of the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) organisation results for 2018. The SPP Fastigheter portfolio was also awarded five stars and thereby received the “Green Star 2018”, GRESB’s highest rating, for the second consecutive year.
GRESB evaluates real estate companies and real estate funds annually from a sustainability perspective. The evaluation for 2018 included roughly 900 companies worldwide, with SPP Fastigheter named Sector Leader in Diversifieds for its investments in real estate, infrastructure and forestry.
“This is extremely pleasing to the whole team,” said Henrik Svensson, Sustainability Manager at Storebrand Real Estate management. “Sustainability is important to us as a group and permeates everything we do. During the construction of the portfolio, sustainability has been both obvious and high priority. To get such a good position n GRESB’s evaluation is therefore a welcome acknowledgement that we’re on track.”
GRESB evaluates and ranks real estate portfolios based on sustainability and makes comparative analyses based on international reporting models such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
