Stockholm (NordSIP) – PensionDanmark has been awarded the Investment & Pensions Europe prize for “European Pension Fund of the Year” for the second year running during IPE awards held in Dublin last week, just one of four awards which also included the Outstanding Industry Contribution Award for CEO Torben Möger Pedersen.
Other awards PensionDanmark received were for its achievements in Credit & Alternatives and Innovation and the Danish award as Denmark’s top pension provider, making it the only compny to receive four awards at the annual IPE Conference, which brings together institutional investors from across Europe.
PensionDanmark is one of the largest pension funds in Europe, serving 700,000 members and €32.1 billion in AUM. CEO Pedersen was recognised for this achievement, having grown the company from zero members in 1993 to its current stature and placing it among the leaders in European pension schemes.
“I am very honoured to receive this very special award, which I will share with PensionDanmarks employees – and not least the labour market organizations which deserves the main honour for creating the Danish labour market pension system,” Pedersen said upon receiving the award.
“The award as an international recognition of PensionDanmarks persistent focus on securing the best possible pension scheme for our members – and at the same time contributes to make the world a better place. High yields and low costs to the members require continued innovation and sustainable investments.”
“We have been frontrunners in digitalizing processes and investments in sustainable real estate and renewable energy. The award is an additional motivation to continue the work,” Pedersen concluded.
During the past five years PensionDanmark has received IPE awards as European Pension Fund of the Year (2012, 2014 and 2017), Best Infrastucture Investor (2014 and 2015), Best Infrastructure Strategy (2014 and 2015), Best Sustainability Strategy (2014), Best Real Estate (2013), Nordic Real Estate Investor of the Year (2017) and for Innovation (2017).
