Until now, Magdalena Håkansson worked at MSCI ESG Research where she advised Nordic institutional clients about ESG integration and sustainable investments. Before that, she has worked for corporate Stockholm-headquartered engagement specialist GES International (now Sustainalytics), where she was Head of Client Relations for the Nordic Region. Previously, she worked at SEB in Stockholm and Goldman Sachs in London.

“Magdalena’s experience and expertise will be valuable to the fund’s continued sustainability work. We have come a long way with responsible investments and responsible ownership, and are now looking forward to further developing this work. As a major owner, we have an important role in society and an opportunity to influence development towards a long-term sustainable society,”says Johan Magnusson, CEO of Första AP-fonden in Swedish.

“Första AP-fonden is a responsible investor and active owner who seeks investments which are characterised by sustainable value creation, by that, we mean operations that are profitable in the long term. I will continue the work to build on the ambitious platform at AP1. I want to ensure the Fund’s “Sustainability beliefs”, a guide for our stakeholders, that summarises what we mean by sustainability and clarifies the expectations we have on the operations we invest in, are reflected across our investments and as active owners. My priorities will also be to further strengthen the integration of ESG aspects, by enabling easy access to relevant data and analysis across our investment organisation, as well as establish processes to monitor and evaluate the value created over time,” Håkansson tells NordSIP.
