Stockholm (NordSIP) – Riksgälden, the Swedish National Debt Office, announced it had hired SEB as structuring advisor for its green bond, scheduled to be issued in 2020. The proceeds from the issuance will be allocated to selected budget expenditures on sustainable investments and projects.

The structuring advisor was selected in consultation with the Government Offices. The main selection criteria included expertise and experience of green bond issuance, coupled with a thorough understanding of Sweden’s sustainability policy and central government borrowing. SEB will assist Riksgälden and the Swedish Government Offices from the development of the underlying ‘green bond framework’ until the actual issuance of the green bond.
