Stockholm (NordSIP) – On Tuesday, May 26th, Triodos Investment Management announced that the Triodos Global Equities Impact Fund, Triodos Euro Bond Impact Fund, and Triodos Pioneer Impact Fund are now available to Swedish retail and institutional investors.

Each fund has its specific characteristics. With €823 million in assets under management (AUM), the  Triodos Global Equities Impact Fund aims to generate a positive impact and competitive returns from a concentrated portfolio of equities issued by large-cap companies offering sustainable solutions. The Triodos Pioneer Impact Fund has €322 million in AUM and has the same aim but focuses on a concentrated portfolio of small- and mid-cap businesses pioneering the transition to a sustainable society. Finally, the Triodos Euro Bond Impact Fund uses its €322 million in AUM to generate a positive impact and stable income from a concentrated portfolio of investment-grade, euro-denominated bonds issued by listed companies, semi-public institutions and EU member state governments.

The funds go beyond traditional ESG approaches to invest for positive change by investing in listed companies and bonds that offer commercial solutions to the world’s most critical sustainability challenges. The funds target companies active in seven themes that are instrumental in the transition towards a sustainable economy.

“We face many interconnected challenges, from climate change to social inequality, which are mainly caused by an economic system solely aimed at output and growth,” says Shawn Westcott (pictured), Investor Relations Manager at Triodos Investment Management. “Countering these challenges requires a radical transformation of our economy. A growing number of investors acknowledge their responsibility to contribute to this transformation, as well as the opportunities it presents. We are happy to offer Swedish investors the possibility to use their capital as a driver of positive change. Because, ultimately, how we invest today defines what our world will look like in the future.”

Westcott was hired at the beginning of February to head Triodos’ Nordic operations. At the time he was excited to join Triodos, which he described as “a true pioneer in the impact investment world” and “full of people who really ‘walk the talk’ in terms of ethics and impact.”

Triodos Investment Management is a Dutch investment manager with over 25 years of experience in impact investing in energy and climate, financial inclusion and sustainable food and agriculture. These three funds are the first ones from Triodos Investment Management authorised in Sweden. The funds were already available for distribution in Denmark, and, in 2018, the funds were the first from outside the Nordic region to receive the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. The fund manager plans to continue its Nordic expansion throughout 2021.
