Van Boeijen already works in the Impact Equities & Bonds team of Triodos Investment Management as a Portfolio Manager. He is responsible for the impact investments in the discretionary portfolios of Triodos Bank Private Banking. He has over 30 years of professional experience working in financial services.

Before joining Triodos in 2007, van Boeijenheld was a Customer Manager at State Street. Prior to this, he was Head of Equity Sales at Theodoor Gilissen between 2002 and 2005. This followed a four-year stint as Account Manager at Metzler Securities and three years as Account Manager for Institutional Investors at ABN Amro between 1994 and 1996.  He holds an MSc in Business Economics from the University of Amsterdam and is a Dutch certified VBA financial analyst.

The three funds are an expansion of Triodos’ original Impact Mixed Fund, launched in 2010, with a neutral profile characterised by a 50/50 balance of bonds and equity in the portfolio. The investment manager added two other funds in 2019, creating a range with defensive, neutral, and offensive risk-return profiles. The defensive portfolio allocation is 75% bonds/25% equity, while the ratio is inverted for the offensive portfolio. The funds aim “to generate positive impact and competitive financial returns.” Triodos selects companies based on their contribution to seven sustainable transition themes: Sustainable Mobility & Infrastructure; Social inclusion & empowerment; Prosperous & Healthy People; Renewable Resources; Innovation for Sustainability; Sustainable Food & Agriculture; and the Circular Economy. Moreover, investments must comply with the Triodos strict minimum standards.

Triodos Investment Management is a globally active impact investor with €4.9 billion in assets under management (AUM), as of the end of June 2020. It has 25 years of impact investing experience, including in listed companies that contribute to the transition toward a sustainable society. Triodos Investment Management is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Triodos Bank.
