Bridging the ESG Skills Gap

Tokyo (NordSIP) – “I was just at a break-out session on bridging the ESG skills gap. I really enjoyed a presentation by Dr. Zou showing evidence that ESG training is the best predictor of an organisation’s long-term commitment to sustainability and that this training shouldn’t be limited to portfolio managers and RI staff,” says an enthusiastic Nazli Azergun, Communication and sustainability expert at Storebrand. “I am convinced that all high-level managers need training to be prepared to lead the younger cohorts of employees entering the workforce with a strong sustainability mindset. Yet ESG training shouldn’t be limited to management. Investors ask their portfolio companies to have a holistic look on sustainability when pursuing ESG integration, the same holistic look should include all employees.”
