Nordea’s Pedersen Joins ISSB Advisory Group

Stockholm (NordSIP) – The Nordic Region’s influence over the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) took another step forward with the addition of Nordea’s Eric Christian Pedersen to its Investor Advisory Group (IIAG).

The ISSB, which operates under the auspices of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation, is a standard setter for global sustainability disclosures in financial markets.  It was established in 2021 during Glasgow’s COP26.  The IIAG’s role is to provide strategic guidance on the development of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, while ensuring that the perspective of international investors is taken into consideration.  The IIAG also aims to raise awareness of the standards and encourage their adoption by market participants.

Speaking to NordSIP, Pedersen said: “Nordea Asset Management have been long-standing members of the ISSB IAG’s predecessor, the SASB Investors Advisory Group.  As a leader in the discipline of Responsible Investing, it feels very natural to continue contributing to the important work of aligning sustainability standards across jurisdictions.”

Nordea is the only Nordic bank represented on the IIAG, which comprises 63 asset owners and managers from around the globe.  Denmark’s ATP and Norway’s Norges Bank Investment Management represent the asset owner side.  Pedersen has been a member of Nordea’s Responsible Investments Committee since 2019 and us currently Nordea Asset Management’s Head of Responsible Investments.  He is also Vice Chair of Denmark’s sustainable investment forum Dansif.
