Calling All ESG Data Providers

Share post:

Stockholm (NordSIP) – A major opportunity for providers of sustainability ratings and data is taking shape as the Swedish Fund Selection Agency (Fondtorgsnämnden – FTN) begins its investigation into the space.

In preparation for a formal tender later this year, the Swedish Pensions Agency (Pensionsmyndigheten) launched a request for information (RFI) on 3 July 2024 on behalf of FTN.  The Swedish Fund Selection Agency is a government authority mandated to procure and monitor the funds in the state defined contribution premium pension system, which currently represent €200 billion worth of assets under management.

FTN is interested in off-the-shelf, standardised data platforms that it will be able to swiftly implement and begin evaluating the sustainability standards of the several hundred funds on the platform.  It intends to use the system during the fund procurement process as well as throughout the duration of the contractual agreements with fund managers.  FTN will not consider proposals based on the creation of new, bespoke analytical platforms.

Interested parties can download the RFI on the Swedish Pensions Agency’s tender platform.  The deadline for submission is 30 August 2024.  Any questions regarding the RFI must be submitted by 21 August.
