Two years ago, we sized the impact investing market at $1.16 trillion dollars. And since then, our research has found that that number is only growing. Now I’m delighted to share the size of the 2024 impact investing market. It is $1.57 trillion dollars.
$1.57 trillion dollars are: making healthcare more accessible; building affordable housing; providing clean energy; supporting the farmers that feed us; regenerating our lands and oceans; creating good jobs; and so much more.
That’s why our work is so important. Every impact investment is a chance to deliver solutions. Every impact investment is a chance to prioritize what really matters. I often get asked: ‘Is there a target number for the size of the impact investing market?’ ‘Is there an amount of capital that will be enough?’
We’ll know we’ve reached enough when everyone, everywhere, has access to good jobs, economic mobility and a healthy planet. Because the scale of our ambitions is defined by the scale of the world’s problems.
