Havsfrun Investment AB is a Swedish investment company that manages a globally diversified, multi-strategy portfolio. Their investments include hedge funds, mutual funds, individual stocks, and stock indices.
As of October 2024, the company’s net asset value per share was SEK 9.44, with an investment ratio of approximately 46%, amounting to SEK 52 million (approx. €4.54 million).
In December 2024, Havsfrun announced plans to establish a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) with an initial equity of around SEK 25 million (approx. €2.2 million), aiming for a listing on Nasdaq Stockholm in 2025.
CEO Jonas Israelsson stated that the goal is to enhance shareholder value. While Havsfrun has primarily focused on value-driven acquisitions in recent years, this new strategy aims to establish an independent “acquisition branch” targeting smaller-scale mergers and acquisitions. The leadership believes this market segment holds significant business potential.
This initiative broadens Havsfrun’s business focus, creating a third operational pillar:
- A standalone SPAC, sponsored and majority-owned by Havsfrun.
- Havsfrun’s existing operations centered on investments and activities aimed at IPOs.
- Continued capital management of Havsfrun’s own funds.
Havsfrun aims to leverage its longstanding experience with the Stockholm Stock Exchange, dating back to its listing in 1994, to commercialise benefits for target companies. Further updates on the SPAC process will be provided as significant developments occur.
