    PFA Appoints New Head of ESG Investing

    NordSIP (Stockholm) – In the first move of the year, PFA Asset Management has appointed Rasmus Bessing (Pictured) to head of ESG Investing and co-CIO. Bessing has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry.

    PFA Asset Management is the asset management arm of PFA Pension, the largest pension provider in Denmark, with DKK736 billion in assets under management and serving approximately 1.3 million customers across the country, as of 2022.

    Bessing joined PFA in 2006 as a legal counsel and associate general counsel at PFA Pension. Between 2014 and 2018 he worked as General Counsel & Head of Legal of PFA Asset Management, after which he assumed responsibilities as COO between 2018 and 2023.

    In his role as Head of ESG Investing, Bessing will oversee Christian Schubart, Head of ESG, who will remain responsible for the day-to-day management of the ESG team and areas such as data disclosure. Bessing will also continue in his role as a non-executive director at the Danish Investment Association, which he has held since April 2015.
